[Journal Eighty]

Changed my username. Had to buy a premium membership to do so, but it was worth it. I've been wanting to change it for a while now and the facility has only just become available, so I went for it. I've had premium membership before and it has far better features anyway, so they're really an added bonus as I only bought it to change the name.

In other news, I'm still exhausted from my latest piece [link] for the Dodge Dart 'Inspired by You' contest. I would say 'satisfied' is a good word to sum up how I feel about that project, even if it doesn't win anything. Finally, I thought. A decent excuse, an opportunity to paint something special. Anything to get me making art again. I wanted to concentrate on my technique, using brushes etc. But I was able to do more than that. Some parts even appear as if they were drawn with pencil on paper, an effect I played around with for some time.



It's strange how something so complex could have possibly bloomed from such a rough draft [link] , but anyway, I've learned new and interesting things about the way I can paint things digitally in the last week and I hope to make something new again soon, using these new techniques.
